Gerald R. Woodard, DO

My family moved to St. Louis, MO when I was in grade school. After high school, I began work in the laboratory at St. Joseph’s Hospital and began a rewarding career in medicine. While working nights in the lab I attended the University of Missouri and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry from St. Louis. I went on to medical school at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in northern Missouri. After graduation and internship, I relocated to Ormond Beach, Florida where I ultimately completed a family practice residency at Peninsula Medical Center. After residency, I began family practice in Daytona Beach Shores at Shores Medical Center where my daughter Lauren Girard D.O. and I continue to practice family medicine. Over the past 35 years of practicing family medicine, I have completed several additional certificates such as geriatrics, and longevity medicine as well as graduated with an MBA from the University of South Florida. I look forward to continuing family medicine while developing a medical spa for longevity patients at our Shores location.

Lauren Girard, DO

Dr. Lauren Girard grew up in the Ormond Beach area and attended Seabreeze High School. She received her Bachelor of Science in biology at the University of Miami and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University. Throughout her training, she worked as a tutor and really enjoyed teaching. Dr. Girard then moved to Jacksonville for her Family Medicine residency at St. Vincents where she was elected chief resident her third year. Dr. Girard is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine as well as the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine. She is happy to be back in the area now, practicing family medicine with her father, Dr. Woodard. For fun, she enjoys being outdoor by the water and spending time with her family and friends.
